Mental Health Awareness Week 2020

This years Mental Health Awareness Week took place in May 2020, so over the week we dedicated our social media posts to opening up a space to talk about Mental Health in aid of the Mental Health Foundation. Throughout the week we shared images created by our talented and diverse network of artists which reflect on an act of kindness in relation to mental health.

Since the first Mental Health Awareness Week in 2001, The Mental Health Foundation have raised awareness on topics like body image, stress and relationships, reaching millions of people every year. Their theme this year was ‘Kindness’  because of its singular ability to unlock our shared humanity. Kindness strengthens relationships, develops community and deepens solidarity. It is a cornerstone of our individual and collective mental health. This year, with your support, they want to reach more people than ever before!

The Mental Health Foundation called for support asking for everyone to spread the message of kindness and importance of opening up the dialogue around mental health in order to help improve the quality of lives around the country. Potentially saving thousands of lives. Pocko Social was keen to help where we could so asked for out artists to contribute…

The work

This years Mental Health Awareness Week took place between 18th - 24th May 2020, so over the week we decided to dedicate our social media posts to spreading the word and opening up a space to talk about Mental Health in aid of the Mental Health Foundation. Throughout the week we shared images created by our talented and diverse network of artists which reflect on an act of kindness, display kindness in relation to mental health or spread the word about mental health - helping to to ease the stigma often attached to mental health illnesses #kindnessmatters #mentalhealthawarenessweek
